# Privacy

Family details are personal, especially about living relatives. Here is exactly what happens to them.

## Your family stays in your browser

The names, dates, places, relationships, guest lists, contacts and costs you enter are processed entirely in your browser. They are never sent to us or to anyone else. Charts and images are made on your device, and files you save or open never leave it.

## What is stored on your device

To keep your work between visits, the site saves it in your browser’s local storage: your family tree and chart settings, the people on the age gap calculator, your reunion plan, and your colour theme. Only this browser on this device can read it. Clearing this site’s data in your browser deletes it, as does “Start my own tree” or “Start my own plan” for those tools. If you share a computer, remember that anyone using the same browser can see it.

## Page view counts

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and see which tools are useful. It does not use cookies, does not track you across other sites, and never receives what you type, choose or save in the tools.

## Hosting

The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address and browser details to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse; see [Cloudflare’s privacy policy](https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/).

## Links to other sites

Links to other websites, including the tools we recommend, are ordinary links. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
